to put efforts in combating this negative phenomenon by preparing social workers, family members and carers on how to recognise elderly people maltreatment and abuse, how to address them and what actions to take;
to recognise all types of elderly maltreatment and abuse;
to address such cases by contacting and involving responsible organisations and institutions;
to apply social marketing and mass media awareness raising campaigns and tools for promoting the ABUTRAINING training programme, as well as other trainings and educational courses that address the topic of elderly people maltreatment;
to promote the healthy ageing approach and combat the negative stereotypes that exist about elderly people.
